Fetches the page server-side (to dodge browser CORS blocks) and strips it to plain text — no AI, nothing paid. Only a handful of major issuers are pre-loaded with a known IR URL; for anything else, use the Google button to find the right page, then paste its URL here. For "Parse with AI," type the specific series ticker (e.g. RY.PR.S) rather than just the issuer name — issuer pages often list a dozen+ series at once, and a specific ticker lets Gemini's live search target the right one.

Extracts the raw text from the PDF entirely in your browser (via pdf.js) — nothing is uploaded anywhere. No AI parsing, so it can't auto-fill the form, but it will try a couple of simple pattern guesses (rate %, dates) that you should verify. Read the text below, then switch to Manual entry and type in the confirmed terms.

Reads the preferred_terms_summary.json file produced by the extractor.py script (run locally against SEDAR+ or manually-downloaded prospectus PDFs). Each entry shows up below for review — click to add to the watchlist.

Searches TSX's public listed-symbol directory for the issuer, then lists every outstanding preferred series found for it (all its .PR. / .PF. tickers) — not just one. Each row shows a live price. Click ✨ What is this? or Use → to fetch the issuer's actual investor-relations page and have Gemini extract that specific series' rate/type/reset date from it (free, uses your Gemini key) — works for issuers seeded in KNOWN_ISSUERS (33 major TSX preferred issuers as of this build); for others it'll tell you to add a URL via the "Look up issuer" tab instead. Gemini has no live web search here, so it only ever reads the actual page fetched — never guesses from memory.

This only changes numbers in this calculator — it never touches your actual watchlist holding. Pick a holding to prefill its real terms as a starting point, then adjust whatever you want to test.

Shifts are applied on top of today's live reference rates to every reset/floating holding on your watchlist at once (perpetuals are unaffected since they don't reset). Shows current yield, yield-at-reset under the shift, and the resulting change in projected annual income across your whole ladder — weighted by shares held where you've entered them.

Uses your Gemini key (free tier) with your current watchlist — tickers, terms, prices, shares, and live/reference rates — sent as context on every message. It has no live web access (see the note elsewhere in this app about why), so treat anything it says about news, redemptions, or events beyond what's in your watchlist as unverified. Good for reasoning through "what if" scenarios on your ladder; not a source of new facts.
